What is Pack ‘n’ Track?

Pack ‘n’ Track is a package tracking application that supports Fedex, UPS, USPS, and DHL. Simply add your tracking number and the app will auto detect the shipper and notify you as your package progresses to its destination.

What shippers are supported?

Pack ‘n’ Track supports Federal Express (FedEx), United Parcel Service (UPS), United States Postal Service (USPS), and Deutsche Post World Net (DHL). For shipments that change couriers during shipment (i.e. USPS Mailbox Innovations) we will only track the package once it is given to the delivering courier.

How do I add a package?

Tap the + Add… item on the bottom of the package list to add a package. Enter your tracking number and an optional title/name for your package. Hit Ok to add the package or swipe back to cancel.  The shipper will be detected automatically.

How do I delete a package?

Swipe left to right on the package title in the package list and you can select ‘Delete’ to remove the package or ‘Cancel’ to undo the deletion.

Why do I get a tracking error?

Errors can occur for a variety of reasons. First check you tracking number by selecting the ‘gear’ icon to the right of the packages title.  Then select ‘edit package’, this will bring up the add package dialog populated with that packages information.

Another source of errors could be the shipper has not logged the tracking number in their system.  If you are certian your tracking number is correct, wait a couple hours and see if the package begins to track.  If it still does not work, try using the shippers website to validate the tracking number. If it works on the shippers website but not in Pack ‘N’ Track and you validated it is typed correctly, please contact us on our website with your tracking number.

Do I have to leave the app running constantly to get notifications?

Pack ‘n’ Track will run in the background even if you don’t have it open.  It will notify you of a packages change in status with a banner announcement and then place the Pack ‘n’ Track icon in your dashboard.  You will get a banner alert for each package, but only one dashboard icon.  Tapping the dashboard icon will display your latest notifications one at a time switching every 3 seconds.  Tapping on a package in the dashboard will launch Pack ‘n’ Track and take you to that package.

How do I only get notified when my package is delivered.

You may set the Delivery Only preference to ‘on’ in the user preferences if you only want to be notified when a package is delivered versus every step of the way.

How do I turn off status notifications?

You may disable notifications under preferences.

How often does Pack ‘n’ Track update a packages’ status?

You may specify how often we check a package’s status in the update interval setting in the user preferences. The default value is 15 minutes.  If you do not want us to automatically check for package updates, you may select ‘Update Manually’ and you will be required to select ‘Update All Packages’ from the App Menu in order to receive any status updates.

Won’t always running in the background drain my battery?

Because Pack ‘n’ Track sleeps the majority  of the time and only wakes for a few seconds during its status checks, impact to your battery should be negligible.  However if you are low on battery or want to concerve ever last ounce of energy, you can set the Wake Device option to ‘off’ under user preferences and Pack ‘n’ Track will only check for updates when the device is in use.  Please note you will only get status updates when you are using the device.

How do I mark all notifications as…?

Tap gear icon to the right of the package’s title and there will be a popup menu. Select ‘Mark Read’ to mark all that package’s notifications as read, or ‘Mark Unread’ to set all to unread.”

What is the number in shipper’s logo?

It is the number of unread notifications for that package.

How can I sort my packages?

Under ‘Preferences’ in the App Menu you can select to sort your packages by a variety of properties.

Can I sort my packages manually?

Packages are added in the order you create them, but you can manually re-order them by tap and holding the package, then drag it to a new position. The package will stay in this position until you move it.

Can I search for a particular package?

Simply start typing to begin searching and the results will be displayed as you type.

How do I cancel a search?

Either backspace, delete the search string, or swipe back.

What is the Latest Info section?

Select a shipper or package status you would like to monitor and the latest status for each of the packages in your list from that shipper or status will be displayed by rotating every few seconds.

How can I turn off the Latest Info section?

To turn it off, tap the ‘Latest Info’ text on the page header of the package list.

How can I change how fast packages rotate in the Latest Info section?

To change the duration of the featured shipper, tap the App Menu and ‘Preferences”. Select the popup labeled ‘Interval’ to the number of seconds you want the packages to be displayed.

How do I see a list of notifications for my package?

Tap on the package to see a list of notifications. Tap on the arrows at the top to go to the next or previous package, or tap on a notification to read it. Notifications are sorted by most recent first, and least recent last. You can page from notification to notification, either next or previous using the buttons at the bottom of the screen.

How do I visit a shipper’s website?

Tap on the package to see a list of notifications for that package. Then tap on a notification to view it. Finally tap on the globe icon and the browser will launch to that package on the shippers website.

How do I send a tracking number to a friend?

Tap on the package to see a list of notifications, then tap on a notification to view it. Finally tap on the paper plane icon and it will give you the option to send the url of your package on the shippers website to a friend via emial or sms.

Is there an easy way to send tracking numbers to Pack ‘n’ Track?

Pack ‘n’ Track supports the computer to device app Neato! to easily send tracking numbers to Pack ‘n’ Track.

Can I copy & paste tracking numbers?

Yes, however do to a bug in webOS you must use the shortcut commands. To copy place and hold a finger on the gesture area and press ‘c’. To paste place and hold a finger on the gesture area and press ‘v’.
