TripIt® is coming to HP webOS one way or another!

Over the past month, we have been diligently working  to bring a full TripIt® app to HP webOS. The app was nearly complete, and rock solid. TripIt® was so impressed by its quality that they expressed interest in officially endorsing it as THE official TripIt® app for webOS.

However, late last week we were notified that TripIt® no longer wished to endorse the proposed app, quoting “While we appreciate you being amenable to our terms, and really would like to go forward, our mobile team is simply too focused on other platforms to handle another “official” TripIt® app right now.”

Fear not webOS community, we don’t let things like this deter our spirits!

Since the need for this app is high, and that it is nearly complete, it will be launching soon. However, we no longer have official endorsement from TripIt®, so we can no longer use the TripIt® trademarks. In order to move forward, rebranding the app as our own is required. After days of trying on hats, none us of liking what we came up with, we decided that the best thing to do was ask you! That’s right, a contest.

The rules are simple, retweet the message below with the app name you would like to nominate. If we pick your name, then you will forever go down in history as the namer of this app. Ohh, you’ll also win a 1 year TripIt Pro account, a $50 value. The contest will end at noon pst 12/08/10 and we will pick a winner that evening. The winner will be notified prior to the public announcement.

  3. I’m VERY happy to see you take this project on as TripIT is an essential tool for me and I was hoping to use something other than the mobile web client on my Pre.
